Blaricum is a very small village in the center of the Netherlands. The original inhabitants were farmers and it use to have this true agricultural character. But that was a long time ago. Over the years, Blaricum attracted new people, due to its very idyllic location. The first came from Amsterdam. The new inhabitants made the village really wealthy. And that’s easy to see when you visit Blaricum nowadays. The new people build beautiful and stylish houses. But in the center of Blaricum there are still farmhouses to see. My painting shows an original Blaricum farmhouse, in a present-day “outfit”.
